Co-operation Is More Profitable Than Competition

For years Newfoundland & Labrador (NL) felt cheated by Hydro Quebec. NL felt it got the short end of the stick in a deal signed with Hydro Quebec many years ago. All attempts to re-negotiate the deal were rebuffed by Hydro Quebec. So, NL and their colorful premier Danny Williams has now made a deal with Nova Scotia for a new "green" mega project. Read the full story here. I am happy for Danny Williams and for all those who will benefit from this project. And by the way, the New England States are happy to see this project proceed since they too stand to benefit.

Hydro Quebec, by wanting the whole pie, will get none of this specific pie. Had they been willing to work cooperatively with NL, they too would have shared the benefits of this project.
