Bring Canadian Troops Home From Afghanistan NOW

More than 150 Canadians have died in Afghanistan. We were supposed to bring all our troops home in 2011 but the date has now been moved to 2014, and who knows how many more times it will be moved before the "war" in Afghanistan ends.

Others, most recently the Soviets, tried to defeat the Afghans and failed. NATO will also fail for many reasons including - there is no defined objective, the foreigners always leave, and the Afghans know this.

In Canada, and I imagine also in other countries, soldiers and their families talk about "finishing the job." What, pray tell, is the job? Turn Afghanistan into a democracy? It will not happen in a hundred years. Build schools for girls? As soon as the foreigners leave the Taliban will torch all the schools for girls.  Develop Afghanistan into a modern western-style country? Impossible!

All the money poured into Afghanistan, and all the lives lost including the lives of Afghanis, will be for naught because at the end of the day the Afghanis have to solve their own problems. Our presence there is preventing them from doing so.
